Why:
- Dazzle pH Plus raises the pH of swimming pool water when low.
- A low pH (water that is too acidic) can cause the following issues:
- Discomfort to bathers – skin and eye irritation
- Rapid sanitizer dissipation – difficult to maintain a chlorine residual
- Hyperactivity of chlorine – can lead to fading / bleaching of surfaces more readily
- Corrosion, etching of pool surfaces
- metal surfaces corrode leading to expensive repair/replacement and staining
- plaster finishes etch, leading to rough, discoloured patches where algae grows more readily and can scratch feet
- vinyl liners lose their elasticity and can wrinkle
- A low pH can cause extensive damage to the pool surfaces, leading to expensive repair
When:
- Test pH as often as needed to maintain consistently at the following ranges;
- Ideal: 7.4 – 7.6
- Acceptable: 7.2 – 7.8
- Use Dazzle pH Plus whenever pH is less than 7.4 to bring back to the ideal and effective range of 7.4 – 7.6
How Much:
- If pH is 7.3 – use 30 grams per 10,000 litres
- If pH is 7.2 – use 60 grams per 10,000 litres
- If pH < 7.2 – use 90 grams per 10,000 litres (multiple applications may be needed)
Maximum One-Time Addition:
- Never add more than 250 grams per 10,000 litres per application.
How:
- Ensure that the total alkalinity of your pool water is in the proper range
- With the pump and filter operating;
- Slowly sprinkle or broadcast Dazzle pH Plus over the surface of the water
- Allow to circulate for two or more hours
- Re-test pH and re-apply if pH is still below 7.4
